The RHS Chelsea Flower Show, officially the Great Spring Show is a garden show held each year on five days in May by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in Chelsea, London. It is the most famous show in the United Kingdom, perhaps the most famous gardening event in the world. Every May thousands of keen gardeners arrive in London to visit the Flower Show. Here visitors can buy plants, enjoy dazzling floral displays and get expert gardening advice. It is always a privilege to receive an invitation to London’s annual Chelsea Flower Show. This year's glittering event on 25-29 May 2010 was, as always, superb. Now it was in its 88th year. Journalists agreed that there was something special in the air this year, whether it was the heat, the extra long list of celebrities or some very unusual gardens designed by new names at Chelsea. Orchids are out in force at this year's Chelsea Flower Show. Eleven displays in the Great Pavilion feature orchids, while both cool-growing and tropical orchids put in appearances in the gardens. Taiwan's reputation as the “Orchid Kingdom” has been further enhanced as Queen Elizabeth II praised the quality of Taiwanese orchids during a stop at the country's booth. This is the first year that Taiwan was invited to the annual Chelsea Flower Show.
