Джо Коккер

John Robert "Joe" Cocker, OBE (Order of the British Empire) was an English rock and blues singer and musician who came to popularity in the 1960s. He was known for his gritty voice, spasmodic body movement in performance. Cocker was born on 20 May 1944 at 38 Tasker Road, Crookes, Sheffield, South Yorkshire. He was the youngest son of a civil servant, Harold Cocker, and Madge Cocker. According to differing family stories, Cocker received his nickname of Joe either from playing a childhood game called "Cowboy Joe", or from a local window cleaner named Joe. Cocker's first experience singing in public was at age 12 when his elder brother Victor invited him on stage to sing during a gig of his group. In 1960, along with three friends, Cocker formed his first group, the Cavaliers. For the group's first performance at a youth club, they were required to pay the price of admission. In 1961, under the stage name Vance Arnold, Cocker continued his career with a new group, Vance Arnold and the Avengers. In 1966, after a year-long hiatus from music, Cocker teamed up with Chris Stainton, whom he had met several years before, to form the Grease Band. Like the Avengers, Cocker's group mostly played in pubs in and around Sheffield. At the end of 1973, Cocker recorded a new album, I Can Stand A Little Rain. The album, released in August 1974, was number 11 on the US charts.  In January 1975, he released a second album. Throughout the 1980s, Cocker continued to tour around the world, playing to large audiences in Europe, Australia and the United States. In 1993 Cocker was nominated for the British Award for Best British Male, in 2007 was awarded a bronze Sheffield Legends plaque in his hometown, and in 2008 he received an OBE at Buckingham Palace for services to music.
Private Life
In 1963, Cocker began dating Eileen Webster, also a resident of Sheffield. The couple dated intermittently for the next 13 years, and separated permanently in 1976.In 1978, Cocker moved onto a ranch owned in Santa Barbara, California. Pam Baker, a local summer camp director and fan of Cocker's music, persuaded the actress to lend the house to Cocker. Baker began dating Cocker, and they married on 11 October 1987. The couple resided on the Mad Dog Ranch in Crawford, Colorado.
Cocker died of lung cancer on 22 December 2014. The two living Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, were among those who paid tribute to the singer, while Cocker's agent, Barrie Marshall, said that Cocker was "without doubt the greatest rock/soul singer ever to come out of Britain.

Sometimes love can't explain
Each and every rule of the game
Still remains a mystery to me
By any other name
Why she can't make up her mind
While he decides to stay
While one surrenders
And the other one's away
But it's too much to understand
Still a man loves a woman; and
When a woman loves a man
A woman loves a man
She does what she can do
He does the best he can
When a woman loves a man
A woman loves a man
She does what she can do
He does the best he can
And I look into her eyes
When the world is out of hand
And I'm so happy
When a woman loves a man
When a woman loves a man
A woman loves a man.....
A woman loves a man
No moon tonight
No nothing to guide me
Still I will find her
Standing beside me
No moon tonight
There's nothing to guide me
But still I will find her
Standing beside me
Theres darkness everywhere
Still I'll find her
Standing beside me
Standing beside me
She's a woman of strength
He's a man of conviction
But sometimes the truth
Is stronger than fiction
When a woman loves a man
A woman loves a man
She does what she can do
He does the best he can
When a woman loves a man
When that woman loves a man
She does what she can do
He does the best he can
No moon tonight
No nothing to guide me
Still I will find her
Standing beside me
No moon tonight
No nothing to guide me
Still I will find her
Standing beside me
No moon tonight
Nothing to guide me
Still I will find her
Standing beside me
When a woman loves a man
A woman loves a man
She does what she can do
But I do all I can...
When a woman loves a man...

I see trees of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
I see skies of blue
And clouds of white
The bright blessed days
The dark sacred nights
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
The colours of the rainbow
So pretty in the sky
And also on the faces
Of people going by
I see friends shaking hands
Saying "How do you do?"
They're really saying
"I love you"
I hear babies crying
I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

Очень жаль!!!

If I should stay,
I would only be in your way.
So I'll go, but I know
I'll think of you every step of the way.
And I will always love you.
I will always love you.
You, my darling you. Hmm.
Bittersweet memories
that is all I'm taking with me.
So, goodbye. Please, don't cry.
We both know I'm not what you, you need.
And I will always love you.
I will always love you.
I hope life treats you kind
And I hope you have all you've dreamed of.
And I wish to you, joy and happiness.
But above all this, I wish you love.
And I will always love you.
I will always love you.
I, I will always love you.
You, darling, I love you.
Ooh, I'll always, I'll always love you.

I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
Everybody searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone to fulfill my needs
A lonely place to be
So I learned to depend on me

Мы любим Битлз

A student at Quarry Bank School in Liverpool named John Lennon decided to form a group in 1957 which laid the foundation of the most famous rock band of all time. John used the name of his school to name the group. He became a fan of American rock 'n' roll music that time and performed such music in the repertoire. On July 6, 1957, the boy from the group invited Paul McCartney to see their gig. The fifteen-year-old McCartney and sixteen-year-old Lennon began a unique song writing partnership. There were some changes in the membership of the group, but finally settled "The Beatles" went to their first trip to Hamburg in August, 1960. At that time The Beatles weren't considered to be the leading group in Liverpool. By this time, they had hired Brian Epstein as their manager and he signed them up for an audition with Decca Records. Their first single "Love Me Do" was issued on October 5, 1962, and became a hit. 1963 and 1964 proved to be the most important years.

История песни

«Happy Birthday to You» is a well-known song in the English speaking world and all over the world. It is sung to millions of birthday celebrants from infants to presidents. It has been performed in space and its tune can be heard into music boxes, musical greeting cards, watches and other tuneful products. The origin of the song dates back to the mid-nineteenth century, when two sisters, Patty and Mildred J. Hill, introduced the song "Good Morning to All" to Patty's kindergarten class in Kentucky. In 1893, they published the tune in their songbook Song Stories for the Kindergarten.
"Good Morning to All"
Good morning to you
Good morning to you,
Good morning, dear children,
Good morning to all.
(Lyrics by Patty Smith Hill.)
The Hill Sisters' students enjoyed their teachers' version of "Good Morning To All" so much that they began spontaneously singing it at birthday parties, changing the lyrics to "Happy Birthday".
According to the 1998 Guinness Book of World Records, this song is the most recognized song in the English language. Two kindergarten teachers wrote a song as a useful teacher’s aid, but today it’s a hit that never goes away.
